When extra security is a requirement, ACURA has you covered.
By
Simon Joyce

If you are working on Government building projects, such as public buildings, hospitals, or defence to name a few, chances are there are requirements for you to be using security screws, security bolts or security nuts.

There is a broad range of security fasteners available, including self-drilling and self-tapping, so choosing the right type for your project is essential.here

One-way versus two-way screws

Also know as non-reversible and reversible screws

Also know as non-reversible and reversible screws

A basic differentiator is whether the screws are one-way or two-way, also known as reversible and non-reversible screws. With one-way / non-reversible screws, you really only have one attempt. Once they’re in, that’s it. Getting them in is easy using the appropriate driver-bit, whereas removal is a difficult and involved undertaking.

Two-way security screws or tamper-resistant screws can be removed once they’ve been installed. Two-way fasteners don’t give complete security but make it harder to be undone, hence the importance of using the appropriate type of screw for what you are looking to achieve.

Security has many heads

Two-way security screws come with many options of screw heads, such as Torx screws, Pin Hex screws, Oval Pan head screws or Spanner screws as well as options for nuts and bolts. Some of the reputable brands include Kinmar, Pentaforce or Resytork.
