Dock 1 Development
The $168 million residential development will provide 750 new homes and a whole host of new reasons to live, work and play at the Port.
The wider development  includes a dockside piazza, board-walk and pavilions, combining the heritage unique to the Port, with a contemporary, architecturally designed master-plan, to attract new residents  and businesses alike.
The old Marine and Harbours Building, originally constructed in 1971, has been incorporated into the development plan. It is set to be transformed into a $30 million boutique hotel, featuring ‘floating’ rooms directly over the Port River.
What else is happening in the area?
Cedar Woods 160 million housing estate has gained momentum at Fletchers Slip, following the polarising demolition of 1956-built sawtooth Shed 26. 23% of the development will also be landscaped open space, representing 32,000sqm of parks, gardens, walking and cycling trails and verges.
The new one-km spur line which will link Port’s commercial centre and Dock One precinct to the Adelaide CBD was originally announced in October 2017. The new train station and bus terminal is now under review by state Government and Transport Minister Stephan Knoll as works show the project would cost $40 million to deliver, well above the $16 million initial estimate in 2017.
We will keep you updated, as the huge amount of development at the port progresses.
